Burning Fever – Celtic ready to splash the cash

Burning Fever As Celts Ready To Splash The Cash…

Four outa four ain’t bad, and now that Brendan Rodgers has steadied a somewhat rudderless ship, Celtic fans are champing at the bit to for him to take us to the next level and sail into the sunset, not with the Jolly Roger on the bow, but the Scottish Premiership Flag .

Shedding the points at Kilmarnock, and more shockingly at home to Hearts was a bitter blow, one which sent some up the wall, others taking a more pragmatic view.

They latter saw that there was clearly an ambition gap between the manager and the board, that much is clear. They saw some of our most vital and talented players struggling on the treatment table, some for extended periods but still, we held our lead at the top.

The lost points were played out with some interesting team selections and I’m not naming names, you know who they are, and a series of forced backline shuffles which dented our confidence every bit as it did our seemingly unassailable lead at the top.

Now, having taken care of pesky Livingston, stoic Dundee, Loving Cup Champions, theRangers and finally, St. Mirren with ten goals for, and only one against, it appears the Celts are marching on once again.

With the reintroduction of Reo Hatate and Liel Abada allied with the solid defensive partnerships of Scales/Welsh/Rocky, (depending on who is injured first), and the retention of Kyogo due to his non-participation in the Asia Cup, there is renewed hope and optimism for the second half of the season.

Now, we have been promised a raft of new players to bolster our ranks and bin the beta-blockers, and several names have been bandied about: Shankland, Miovski, McKenna, Kvistgaarden and Rapid Vienna flyer, Kuhn to name but a few.

It looks like we will get three, maybe four of these targets and hopefully blow the rest of our rivals away when we have a fully fit, fully functioning squad. Who they will be is purely speculative, but I have every faith in Brendan that he will choose wisely.

Now, we just wait for the board to fulfil their promises and our wishes as we head into the winter break, and a transfer window we’ve all been waiting for. Over to you MichaelDermot/Peter, et al. Show Me The Money!

  1. 1. We need a left back, have done for years. Might need a right back – I very much liked AJohnson last year but his distribution has been very poor this year.
    2. Need another top class mid with some real steel.
    3. Need a top class striker that would fit in up front.
    4. New keeper for next year.
    5. Don’t need another center half – not sure why McKenna is being touted again. CCV, Scales, Nawrocki, Welsh are enough.
    6. We don’t need another winger.
Buy quality from here – that is what we lack as was seen in Europe.
