Many Celtic supporters are fearing the worst for the remainder of this Scottish Premiership campaign so need any sort of positive message they can get. The performances this year have left a considerable amount to be desired and the manager must rectify that to alter the course of the season or failing that, stop it getting out of hand.

Well there has been a much welcomed update given to us all by Sky Sports Scotland which has revealed that Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston have been spotted back in full training with the first-team up at Lennoxtown ahead of another crucial encounter with Motherwell at Fir Park this coming Sunday lunchtime.

Of course, the Hoops visited North Lanarkshire back in September and needed a Matt O’Riley last-gasp winner to put us ahead 2-1 on the day. It was another standard grade Celtic performance that day as well – struggling to put the game to bed which came back to bite us later on. Thankfully the Great Dane came up trumps at the back post and saved our blushes then too.
It remains to be seen if Celtic can indeed turn the tide in this Scottish Premiership but the news that our most influential defender will be back is music to the ears. Likewise, Alistair Johnston returning to training (although he hasn’t been great this season either) will help with squad depth in defence as we aim to maintain our hold on the league trophy.
