It’s common to see a player admit they made the wrong move a few years after they’ve moved on, but it’s bold for Marian Shved to make that admission when he’s still under contract with Celtic.
His signing did look like a strange one as Brendan Rodgers didn’t really seem to want him and he was immediately loaned back out, but there were hopes that he could be one for the future.
He’s actually been pretty impressive during his loan spells with Karpaty Lviv and Mechelen but he barely had a chance to prove himself at Celtic, so it won’t be a surprise if he does move on in the summer.

A report from Glasgow Live has indicated that he also had the chance to move to Belgium with Genk when he first joined Celtic, and it appears he now wishes that he made a different choice:
“That’s right yes. They even made a higher offer than Celtic. But after consultation with my brokers, we ultimately opted for Celtic.
“In retrospect, that may not have been the right choice. If I knew what I know now, I might have chosen the Belgian league and signed with Genk. “
He was also asked about the possibility of a permanent exit, and it sounds like he would be open to that too:
“I find it difficult to answer that already. I would love to be here and I also want to help the club to continue their rise in the rankings but it is too early to talk about a definitive transfer.
“If the clubs can make an arrangement, then I’m definitely willing to listen. I don’t rule out anything. I don’t want to talk about Celtic. I am sitting here now and I am good here. We will see what happens.”
If he does move on then it will probably take a few years to figure out if it was a mistake to let him go without giving him a proper chance to prove himself, but there’s no point in keeping him around if he’s not going to play.
