Celtic and Rangers both want to sign €10m rated striker this Summer

It’s fairly common to see Celtic being linked with a striker as the transfer window approaches, but you have to think someone will have to leave before another arrives.

Odsonne Edouard is the undisputed starter and no Celtic fan will want to see him leave, but the situation behind him is still pretty good.

Leigh Griffiths is a reliable back up who will always get a goal and has great experience in the league, Patryck Klimala looks promising and his pace could be dangerous, while Vakoun Bayo is still a fairly unknown quantity.

Lenny tends to go with one up front, so it looks like at least one of them will need to go before a new signing can be made.

Interestingly a report from The Daily Record has linked the Rangers and Celtic with a move for Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban, who is valued at around £10m.

Ekuban has eight goals in the league this season, while the report has also linked him with a move to Brighton and Lazio, so it does sound like he’s highly thought of.

It’s worth noting that Trabzonspor are currently top of the league and look set for a space in the Champions League next season, while his contract still has a couple of years to run so there’s no pressing need for his team to sell.

There’s no quotes to suggest where he wants to go or any indication that a deal has been agreed with any side yet, but it looks like he could be an option if Celtic need to strengthen up front this Summer.
