Celtic about to announce Youssouf Mulumbu signing

Youssouf Mulumbu, who impressed at Kilmarnock last season, looks like being the first new arrival at Celtic Park in the rush before the window closes.

With Celtic missing out on John McGinn and with captain Scott Brown playing through injury, the former West Brom and Norwich midfielder is currently without a club and had been linked with a move to Swansea City.

He left Kilmarnock at the end of last season, with the intention of signing for a bigger club and he looks to have found that at Celtic.

The 31 year old signed for Kilmarnock in November 2017 with the chance to be re-united with his former West Brom manager Steve Clarke being a big factor for the player who won numerous Player of the Year awards for the Midlands club.

Mulumbu scored his first gaol for Kilmarnock in the 1-0 over Celtic at Rugby Park in February.

He was hugely popular with the Killie fans but on 13 July 2018, Clarke announced that Mulumbu had left Kilmarnock and wasn’t expected to return.

He could be back sooner than expected as Celtic play Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday 23 September, with a 12.30 kick off time.

One player who won’t be there will be Moussa Dembele, pictured below with Mulumbu (who was Man of the Match that day back in February). Moussa will complete his £22.5million move to Lyon and will see his salary increase by a factor of four.

We’ll miss him – especially for his Skelping.
