Celtic cleared to appoint managerial target after he makes a decision over his immediate future

It’s become trendy for top managers to have a year out of the game when they get sacked, but that does come with its risks.

In some cases you’ll be better remembered as time goes on and your reputation can be enhanced, while it’s also possible that they just need some time to recharge and assess where it all went wrong.

There’s always a danger that you just end up being forgotten about and it can make it tricky to get a job after a while, so it’s interesting to see a report about Chris Wilder’s immediate plans.

HITC have confirmed that he is a target for Celtic after losing his job with Sheffield United, while he’s decided he wants an immediate return to the game so that does clear Celtic to appoint him if he’s the man they really want.

It’s an appointment that could’ve looked brilliant last summer when his stock is high but he has overseen a shambolic season this year where relegation is now inevitable, so perhaps he won’t be the preferred candidate.

A big overhaul is needed in the summer and it still makes sense to get someone appointed as soon as possible, and there’s little to stop Celtic agreeing terms with Wilder now if that’s what they really want to do.

It CANNOT be Wilder! Nowhere near the status! Visions of Chris Morris TRYING to take on Brian Laudrup! They don’t dare? Serious bother if they do?

  2. Wilder should not be even on the list there are only two managers that would meet the job description and their names are gradually fading from the list. Why do non names keep popping up!
