Celtic are closing in on a loan deal with an option to buy for Irish international Adam Idah, according to Scott Burns at the Daily Record. Idah has struggled for a starting place at Norwich this season, starting just 12 of their 29 Championship matches, scoring six times whilst averaging a goal every 212 minutes.

However, the striker does rank among the top performers in terms of shooting accuracy and expected goals.

At still just 22-year-old, Idah made the step up to senior football in 2019, making his debut for Norwich at just 18 years of age after a hugely impressive under-age career.

The Cork native scored 34 times in 64 games across all age groups for Ireland at underage level, whilst also hitting 15 goals and 7 assists across 33 Premier League 2 games.

The twenty time Irish international has unfortunately failed to replicate his youth form at senior level, scoring just 17 times in 115 games for Norwich whilst only finding the net twice in 20 games at senior international level.

Idah is a hugely talented player who has been hampered by injuries so far in his career, a fresh start in Glasgow could be exactly the move to allow the Cork native to fulfil his obvious potential.

  1. This is a joke. Wish the kid Idah, all the best but if this is our level of ambition the title will be gone and CL next year too. As Martin O’Neil once said, welcome to the slow lane. Thanks Peter, you’ve cemented your place as the biggest incumbent to Celtics progress in living memory. Enjoy your bonus.

    • Sinclair was a seasoned professional with many seasons in the EPL.
This guy is none of that.
He might work out, he might not, but if you’re expecting Sinclair levels of performance you’re going to be very disappointed.
