Celtic closing in on £2m deal to sign Benjamin Nygren

Celtic are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Benjamin Nygren. The Scottish Champions have held positive discussions FC Nordsjaelland.

According to journalist Mark Hendry, Celtic are confident of completing a £2m deal with talks progressing well.

The attacking midfielder can play as a winger on either side and is out of contract in January, meaning he is available for a cut price deal this summer. After 20 goal involvements for the Danish club, Nygren is attracting interest from Europe with Celtic eager to sign the player now.

Nygren has won four caps for Sweden since making his International debut in March and has scored two goals, continuing his fine rise.

Celtic have been linked with moves for Sarpsborg’s Sondre Orjasaeter and Royal Antwerp’s Michel-Ange Balikwisha as the club look to strengthen their squad before the beginning of the season. Celtic have already secured Kieran Tierney on a five year deal and are expected to sign both Ross Doohan and Callum Osmond. The Welsh attacker will cost a compensation fee while the goalkeeper returns to the club as a free agent.
