Celtic B team star Mitchel Frame has committed his future to the club signing a deal until 2026. The left back is a Scottish youth international and very highly rated and was being watched by a number of clubs down south.
It’s great to see Mitchel wasn’t swayed by the riches on offer down south and opted to put pen to paper and continue to learn his trade at the place he’s been since he was nine years old.

No one could blame Mitchel if he was tempted to follow several of his teammates at youth level and try his luck in England or further afield in Europe. So it’s refreshing to see a player of his quality stay and try to make the breakthrough into the first team.

Mitchel is a regular with the B side in the Lowland League and by all accounts he’s put in a string of impressive performances. If he keeps that up it won’t be long until he catches the eye of Brendan Rodgers if he hasn’t already. If he does indeed make it to first team level, his decision to sign a new deal will prove to have been the right choice. It could also pave the way for more young talent to see their future with the club, and that is what we all want.
Celtic confirmed at lunchtime via the club’s official website that Mitchel Frame’s new contract had been signed after Fabrizo Romano’s update earlier this morning, as reported on The Celtic Star. Here’s how Celtic reported the news.
Celtic Football Club are thrilled to announce that youngster Mitchel Frame has signed a new three-year deal that will see him remain at Celtic Park until 2026. Joining the Academy at nine-years-old, the left-back has risen through the ranks and is now a regular feature in the Celtic FC B Team.
After signing his first professional deal with the club in July 2022, Frame continued his development as part of the under-18 squad. During the 2022/23 campaign, he helped Stuart McLaren’s side reach the Youth Cup final, and was even on the scoresheet as the Celts ran out 6-5 winners over Rangers at Hampden Park.

Ahead of the beginning of the new season, Frame spent time training with Brendan Rodgers’ first team in Portugal, before taking the permanent step up to the B Team. So far this season, Frame has featured in every competitive fixture for the young Hoops, in domestic and European action.
The 17-year-old has also received international recognition at youth level for Scotland, and recently made his first appearances for the under-19 squad. Everyone at Celtic would like to congratulate Mitchel, and we look forward to seeing him continue his journey with the Hoops.
