Celtic could hand debuts to fresh faces in this weekend’s Glasgow Derby showdown, but don’t hold your breath…

The January window opens tomorrow and Celtic are actively exploring the market in a bid to strengthen the squad and give Wilfried Nancy greater scope to reshape the group he took over earlier in December.
Recruitment efforts are believed to be focused on adding firepower up front while also reinforcing defensive options, with club keen to address recent shortcomings.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash with theRangers, Nancy stopped short of confirming any imminent arrivals but acknowledged it remains possible that new signings could be registered in time for the derby.

He told Sky Sports: “When the window is going to be open, this is an opportunity to get better. So, we’ll see what we’re going to do. Again, we are working on that. And, after that, we’ll see what we’re going to do.”
🗣️ “I knew this game could be difficult, knowing where we are and where we want to go…”

Nancy has dismissed suggestions of mounting scrutiny, maintaining that his position remains secure despite a disastrous start that has seen Celtic suffer five losses from his first seven matches.
The Celtic boss said: “As a manager, personally, this is not something that I want and this is not something that we want. After that, the pressure doesn’t change the way I think about this because we know that we have to do better. But for the moment, this is a bit the reality.”
“I knew that it could be like that. We had good games at certain moments. Tonight is a difficult one. The last game, the first half was really good. The second half could have been better. So this is a bit the reality.”

The Frenchman is now in precarious territory. Celtic supporters have turned, but a defeat on Saturday which would put the Ibrox club remarkably level on points with Celtic given Nancy had a nine point advantage when he arrived would be the final nail in the coffin.
🗣️ “The Celtic players look directionless. The squad is in dire need of major surgery.”
