‘Celtic fans are nice,’ Jullien said, ‘Rangers fans are trying too but it’s more vicious’

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN’S appearance on French TV to talk about Celtic was covered this morning on The Celtic Star and we gave you a rough idea about what the £7million July signing from Toulouse was saying to beIN SPORTS France.

However the excellent Celtic France twitter account offered to provide the Celtic support with a more detailed translation on what Jullien was saying about the Hoops, so here goes.

“Since my signing, the staff, the club and the fans have been brillant with me. They welcomed me with open arms and now I feel good on the pitch,” the Celtic Star said.

Next he was asked about the difference between the two cities, Toulouse and Glasgow.

“Differencies between Glasgow and Toulouse? At this time it’s minus 5 or 6 in Scotland and it gets dark at 4:30pm in Glasgow. It’s the only negative point,” he said.

Next up Jullien mentioned the ‘nice’ Celtic support and the ‘more vicious’ Rangers supporters he’s met.

“Celtic fans are nice, they stop me everytime in the city to take selfies, Rangers fans are trying too but it’s more vicious. The hardest is to hang out with my family on evenings, it changes me a lot compared to Toulouse.”

Ambitions at Celtic? “We want to equal the 9 in a row record this season and the huge goal next season is to win 10 in a row,” the Celtic man said.

He added: “Playing at Celtic Park? You have to be there to believe it. Football fans know Celtic Park is incredible but in there the atmosphere is unbelievable.”

“I play with awesome players, all players have almost international level. They have huge qualities.
I defend well and I pass the ball to my midfielders. There is no VAR in Scotland, so it’s more physical, rougher but I like it,” the Frenchman said.

On the inevitable comparison with Bobo Balde, Jullien said it was a “Very nice comparison given the career he had in Glasgow and the returns I have from fans especially. I am proud of it today.”

And if he has a magic wand what would he wish for? “I have a magic wand, I would love to reach the Europa League Final and score 10 goals this season!” Jullien replied.
