Celtic give permission to Spurs to speak to Ange Postecoglou

Celtic have given Tottenham Hotspur to speak to Ange Postecoglou about the vacancy at the North London club. The Australian is widely expected to depart Celtic with an announcement imminent as the final hurdle appeared to be whether clubs could reach an accord about compensation for the manager.

Sky Sports are reporting that agreement has now been reached and the club will not stand in Ange’s way as he looks to take over at the Premier League superpower.

Spurs Chief Daniel Levy wants Ange and it is reported that the 57-year-old’s agent has been discussing the opportunity with the World’s 9th richest club for some time. Now, it appears that we are nearing the end of the Aussie’s time in Glasgow.

Postecoglou is also reportedly keen on taking John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan with him to North London as he looks to make an impact in the Premier League. Another name that the manager is expected to return for his analyst Greg Wallace. Ange won five trophies in two years with Celtic, bringing a brand of attacking football that fans have loved. His departure will hurt but the club move on and the manager will leave with everyone’s best wishes.

Brendan Rodgers is the early front runner for the role that he left in February 2019. It will be in everyone’s interests if Ange completes his move swiftly and a replacement can quickly be installed ahead of the new season. Brendan is available, as is Jesse Marsch.
