Celtic have easy way to make money in the coming years, claims respected journalist

Celtic’s worldwide reputation as a club remains one of the biggest in the world, despite the financial power that other clubs hold ahead of them.

Bar the top end English clubs, Spanish top four and a few select names from the rest of Europe, there are not many bigger clubs across the globe than the Bhoys.

Much has been made of their large fanbase, which stretches from Australia to the Americas, South Africa to Sweden and so on.

But with the arrival of boss Ange Postecoglou in the summer, four Japanese internationals have followed him through the door.

Kyogo Furuhashi joined in the summer, becoming Celtic’s signing of the summer with goals galore across the board including a heroic brace in the League Cup final.

And with the arrivals of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi. Celtic’s fanbase in the Far East has expanded beyond their wildest dreams.

That is something the club should look to take care of, according to respected journalist Dan Orlowitz.

“I said this in my column at the start of the month,” Orlowitz said to Talk From The Terrace.

“If and when Celtic decide to go to Japan for friendly, do a preseason tour, I don’t know if that will be able to happen in the summer because as you may know, there is still a pandemic going on. If it can’t happen this summer, it can happen the summer after.

“That tour will print money as they can put those games in any stadium in the country and it will sell out.

“Nissan Stadium has 72,000 seats and it will sell out. Noevir Stadium in Kobe has 30,000 seats, it will sell out. Kawasaki Todoroki has 26,000, it will sell out.

“It will be some of the most amazing games that Japanese fans have seen for a long time, the atmosphere is going to be incredible. Japan is not an easy market to conquer.

“Asia as a region is not an easy market to conquer as you can’t take a one-size-fits-all approach and you have to be considerate of each country’s needs, cultures and customs.

“If Celtic can do that they can absolutely establish themselves among your Liverpool’s, Manchester United’s, and Arsenal’s.”
