Craig Bellamy today ruled himself out of the being the next Celtic manager after Brendan Rodgers left early last week following his meeting with the club’s biggest shareholder Dermot Desmond…

The former Celtic player – a loan signing during Martin O’Neill’s final season in charge in 2005 – is now that Head Coach of Wales and that’s exactly where the proud Welshman wants to remain as he dismissed any links with him moving back to Glasgow to manage Celtic.
Watch for yourselves via Sky Sports as Bellamy makes it clear he has no interest in leaving his current job as Head Coach of the Welsh national side to move to Celtic.
🍀 “It’s not on my radar and it won’t be on my radar…”

“I can understand the links. I played there,” Bellamy said today when asked about reports linking him with the vacancy at Celtic. “But to me, I love what I’m doing at the present time.
I’m completely focused on what’s set to come. It’s going to be a playoff in March. And for me, that’s all I’m focused on. It’s cliched but it’s the honest truth. I enjoy speaking to you, I enjoy this.

“I couldn’t want anything else at this present moment. It isn’t on my radar and it won’t be on my radar,” Bellamy said, putting to bed any remaining speculation that he’s be interested in the Celtic job if he got an offer from the Celtic Board.

Given that wee revaluation via Gordon Strachan at the weekend about Celtic’s target not being available until December, that would appear to have ruled out Bellamy as the man Celtic are looking at. With no contact at all from Celtic it would have been very easy indeed for the Wales Head Coach to rule himself out of the job.

And if you’ve had a chance to watch Shaun Maloney’s very impressive interview on Celtic TV, you’ll be coming round to the view that many other Celtic supporters are now expressing, that the best thing to do would be to keep Maloney, Martin O’Neill and the backroom staff working on the first team to the end of the season before a new management team is appointed.

Both Maloney and Martin were quick to rule that possibility eight days ago when they spoke to the media at Celtic Park. But after their impressive start, that may have changed their minds somewhat and certainly there were signs of that being the case with Martin if not quite from Shaun. However if the chance came his way to exend this time in charge he’s almost certainly going to grab it with both hands.
No bad thing either.
🗣️ “I’ll forever be grateful for what Martin’s done for me. Anything I can do to help him, I’ll do my best.”

Somehow, didn’t think Bellamy was to high on our wish list at this present time imo?
Always felt that getting ourselves to the next international break, was the first aim for the MoN and Maloney partnership.
Still 2 big games for ourselves to overcome, especially as we are still playing catch up football, within these 2 competitions.
So the reset button can be addressed during the international break, and potentially deciding upon a strategy for the managers role, until the end of the season.
We have a very challenging period of matches, after the international break, with possibly a number of outstanding issues within our playing squad, that have to be resolved before the January window is upon ourselves.
So potentially a massive decision awaits for both MoN and Maloney over the international break.
Hopefully that decision becomes far easier, with gaining another 2 victories in our next 2 games, starting tomorrow.
Hopefully our more free flowing style of football remains intact, especially as it would be fantastic for ourselves to finally get that so elusive away European away victory.
Follow that up with gaining a victory against a anti football approach from a killie team set up to play backs to the wall football.
Within such a results business as football is, still remain confident that there really isn’t much of a decision for MoN and Maloney to make, over the international break imo?
