Celtic move for Norwegian winger Sondre Orjasaeter

It has been reported tonight that Celtic are in talks with Norwegian club Sarpsborg over their winger, Sondre Ørjasæter

Kieran Tierney deal progressing

This comes after the same source, Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports, revealed that discussions with former left-back Kieran Tierney are progressing really well and there is hope on all sides that a deal can be done to bring th4 Scotland international back home to Celtic Park soon.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has triggered the move for winger Ørjasæter, who was first rumoured to be of interest to the Scottish club back in December. The player has had quite the meteoric rise in his homeland of Norway, where he has climbed through the ranks to make it at a top-flight team in the form of his current employers, Sarpsborg.

Red Bull Salzburg interested

Only signed this time last year for the club, the 21-year-old has been garnering interest from various quarters in Europe and is clearly highly-rated. Red Bull Salzburg have previously been credited with an interest in him and the Norway U21 star has plenty of potential to develop into another top Scandanavian footballer. It looks like Brendan Rodgers might be the man to help mould the attacker into a top-class operator like he has done with so many other talents.

£7m now mentioned

No figures have been mentioned as of yet but no doubt the more the story unfolds, the more information like that will become public. (It’s now £7m – see update below). For now, Celtic are working away in the background trying to get deals over the line and streamlining the squad at the same time, which is always good news. Perhaps the injuries to his wingers has prompted Rodgers and the recruitment team to step up the ante in the signings this month.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.

  1. Yes we need the left side upgraded KT would be a big improvement if injuries free and a outand out winger since palma going defensive our left side is funerable when teams press Taylor passes back that’s just putting the next player in a poor position and our midfield are isolated Taylor gets through spl games but Europe he struggles moves inside to much nothing forward comes from him when on touchline that’s cause he is a midfielder KT a naturally left back goodbwith ball at feet good in the air good dribbler and crossing is good he will get plenty off assits how many assits comes from left side even though I’d rate Taylor top left back in spl KT is in another class lm glad to see Rodgers is doing something about the left side maeda has track back to defend left side he will not be doing so much of that with KT and the ball will be played forward more often keeping our midfield and forwards going forward mouth watering the thought of KT and natural left winger gives Rodgers another centre forward in maeda
