Celtic news round up: One exit confirmed, another looks likely and Brendan Rodgers channels David Brent again

It’s been a mixed day from a Celtic point of view, as John Kennedy promised the fans that some new signings would be on their way, it was the potential for departures that dominated the headlines.

Jonny Hayes was one of those players who went on to achieve much more than many would’ve thought. Once he broke his leg it appeared inevitable that he would quietly leave the club, but that didn’t happen.

He went on to become a dependable player for Neil Lennon, one who could play in a variety of positions. Not only would he not let you down, he could also score some very important goals as the Rangers found out.

It was expected that he might have to move on, and his post on Instagram appears to confirm that:

As for the potential departure of Kristoffer Ajer, it appears that nobody can really make up their mind on what the future has in store for him.

Just days after a report indicated that Leicester City’s interest had dried up, another one appears which suggests that they are actually increasing their efforts to sign the Norwegian.

And in the absence of any credible rumours of an incoming signing, it’s worth taking a look at Brendan Rodgers’ comments about his ordeal with the Coronavirus.

Of course it’s not funny and clearly he’s had a terrible time, but only he could turn that into yet another passable David Brent impression.
