Celtic v Hearts in the Scottish Cup Quarter-final – Reaction to the Draw

Celtic were this evening drawn against Heart of Midlothian in the Quarter-final of the Scottish Cup. The Hoops have overcome Greenock Morton and St Mirren in the Fourth and Fifth Round ties respectively, to be in the hat for the draw that has taken place tonight. Both of those matches were played at Celtic Park but this time around, we will be away from home.

So Tynecastle it is for Ange and his intrepid Celtic side who are on a fine winning streak at present – both in the Scottish Premiership and the domestic cups. In truth, this is as hard a draw as we could have gotten at this stage in the game and is a far cry from our city rivals’ draw at home to Raith Rovers.

But, as we always do, we will stick to our Angeball principles that have served us so well these past 20 months or so and delivered substantial silverware. Although look out for Robbie Neilson and his rag-tag band of misfits going all out when the mighty Scottish Premiership Champions roll into town.

No, it won’t be a rollover and die exercise for the boys in maroon on this occasion, as they are not up against the country’s favourite team. Instead, expect full on war from the first kick-off as tackles come flying in left, right, and centre on our brave bhoys. As we’ve seen in the past, the men from Gorgie have no compunction whatsoever about landing some tasty tackles on our players whenever we play.

The Celtic supporters have been reacting to the Quarter-final draw on social media platform Twitter, and here is what they have had to say about this potential powderkeg of a Scottish Cup tie:

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
