Celtic v Rangers: Injury blow as Celtic defender ruled out

CELTIC defender Jack Hendry has pulled out of the Scotland squad for the forthcoming internationals against Belgium and Albania.

The central defender played through the pain barrier for several games but found that by the time Celtic played at Firhill in the League Cup, his ankle injury was too severe to ignore.

Hendry isn’t the only Celtic player to be playing while injured. The Celtic captain Scott Brown has been doing the same and in both cases the players were prepared to commit to the cause and do their very best for the team.

Hendry miss tonight’s crucial Europa League Play-off against SK Suduva and Sunday’s game against Rangers in the Premiership.

The Celtic players joining up for Scotland international duty are Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Leigh Griffiths.
