Celtic v Ross County: Predicted XI as CCV returns, Scales at left back

Celtic face Ross County this afternoon in the return of cinch Premiership action. The Scottish Champions kick off after Rangers’ game at St Mirren concludes with the Ibrox club looking to cut the gap to two points.

Brendan Rodgers takes his side into the game with the blow that Greg Taylor is unavailable; however, new signing Nicolas Kuhn and star defender Cameron Carter-Vickere are in contention after missing the win over Buckie Thistle. The USA Internationalist committed his long term future to the club on Friday, penning a new five and a half year deal.

In goals, Joe Hart will start.

In defence, expect CCV to return to partner Maik Nawrocki with Liam Scales moving to left back. Alistair Johnston will continue at right back. Alexandro Bernabei could come in but the manager seems to trust Scales more, even if it’s not his natural position.

In midfield, expect Callum McGregor to return to skipper the team. The heartbeat of this team was rested against Buckie but will line up alongside Matt O’Riley and Paulo Bernardo in the central three.

In attack, expect Kyogo to start through the middle with Liel Abada and Luis Palma in the wide areas.

That leaves options from the bench such as Kuhn and Mikey Johnston. However, the squad needs strengthened and hopefully the manager can address fans on that this afternoon.
