Celtic well aware that Motherwell looking at Miller millions this summer

Celtic’s move for Lennon Miller failed to get off the ground in January but Brendan Rodgers should be going all out to sign the Motherwell midfield star in the summer transfer window…

Highly rated and highly sought after 18 year old Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller has been rumoured to have been a transfer target of Brendan Rodgers for quite some time, with a proposed move in January failing to get off the ground due to the Steelmen’s reluctance to talk to their Hoops counterparts midway through the season.

Miller who has recently just returned from injury impressed yet again in the Fir Park outfit’s fine 2-1 win over theRangers at Ibrox on Saturday, ahead of Celtic winning that brilliant game of football at Paisley against St Mirren to open up a 16 points gap at the top of the table.

The 18 year-old has made 63 appearances for Motherwell

At only 18 years of age, Lennon Miller has already amassed 63 appearances in all competitions for the Fir Park outfit. He became the club’s youngster ever debutant in major competition when he made a substitute appearance against Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup just six days after his 16th birthday back in 2022.

Miller made his big breakthrough last season starting in all of his side’s premiership matches, and just narrowly missed out on being named SPFA Young Player of the Year thanks to his eye catching performances.

Excellent form not a flash in the pan

He’s shown that form wasn’t a flash in the pan by producing similar performances this season, and even skippered his side in the Premier Sports League Cup semi final at Hampden against theRangers, in a testament to his maturity.

In my view, Celtic should definitely be following up our January interest with a more concrete approach this coming summer. Lennon Miller is a talented young player who will only get better, and we should act now before he’s undoubtedly snapped up by one of numerous clubs around  Europe interested in acquiring his signature.

He fits Celtic’s transfer strategy. He’s young, talented, and he’s Scottish which would help with the ‘homegrown’ quota when it comes to European football. It makes perfect sense to snap him up. He’d cost a few quid, but it could prove to be a worthy investment.

He has a year left on his current deal at Motherwell so this summer will be when they are most likely to achieve the highest return for developing the player in the transfer market.

Lennon Miller is definitely one to watch for possible incoming transfer to Celtic this summer.
