Celtic’s 9-in-a-Row Hung out to Dry, the Rangers left Blowing in the Wind

NINE-in-a-Row looks certain to be confirmed sooner rather than later by the SPFL Board. It looks like there is little appetite for the season being played to a finish Behind Closed Doors and the real take-away from yesterday’s decision by the Dutch is not that they didn’t award a Champions title but that they decided against even trying to play out what would have been an exciting and closely fought end to their season.

Ajax and AZ Alkmaar were separated only by goal difference with our old ‘friends’ having the slight advantage. That won them the right for automatic entry to the Champions League while AZ Alkmaar will have to qualify.

But if the Dutch have decided against playing out the league, calling it as too close to call and awarding their European placings, then Scottish football will be influenced by this and are likely to follow suit. But here we have a gap in points that makes it easy to call and just as the likes of Dundee Utd, Raith Rovers and Barry ‘I’ll take it’ Ferguson’s Kelty Hearts were named as Champions, so too will Celtic.

The SPFL Board have the authority to call it a day anytime they choose after the recent vote by all SPFL clubs – which returned over 80% of votes in favour.

The only opposition came from the relegation threatened, that Ibrox job-seeker at Inverness Caley Thistle and the bitter and twisted from the Kingdom of Govania.

If there is to be ‘a wider scope’ investigation then the interaction between the Rangers and the Inverness CEO should be looked at too, surely? And also what happened between the league sponsor Ladbrokes and the Ibrox club? That got messy too didn’t it. Maybe we should find out why?

So it looks like the season will be called and Celtic – thirteen points and twenty five goals ahead of the Rangers – who could still have been caught by Motherwell for second place, to their credit the Fir Park side made little of their remote chance of being runners up (unlike the Rangers) – will be Champions and that means NINE-IN-A-ROW.

This image has started to appear on both social media this morning. Why don’t we all share it and plaster it everywhere – on Facebook pages and groups, on Twitter accounts and on Instagram.

Tell all the Bears you know, it’s gonna be Ten-in-a-Row.

Let’s hand out the washing – Nine in a Row. Hello! Hello!
