Celtic’s imminent Korean signing

Transfer of Kwon Hyeok-kyu now imminent…

Busan IPark manager Park Jin-sub has confirmed the imminent transfer of Kwon Hyeok-kyu to Celtic following his sides match today, according to Sport Chosun-[현장인터뷰]박진섭 부산 감독, 권혁규 셀틱행선수의 미래와 성장이 우선” (chosun.com)

The 22-year-old started the game against Seongnam which is expected to be his last game for the K League 2 side.

Hyeok-kyu leaves Busan in a good position with the club just two points off top spot in the K League 2.

The South Korea u23 international has made 19 appearances this season, scoring two goals.

The agreed fee for the player is expected to be around £860,000.

The elegant defensive midfielder has been compared to Man City and UEFA Champions League winner Rodri in recent times.

Hyeok-kyu will join Oh Hyeon-gyu and recently confirmed signing Yang Hyun-jun as the third current South Korean player at Celtic.
