Celtic’s League Cup semi-final tickets have now sold out

Celtic have announced that tickets for the Viaplay League Cup Semi-final against Kilmarnock at Hampden Park is now sold out. The Hoops will play Derek McInnes’ men at the national stadium this year to reach the Final at Hampden Park later in February. It will be played at 5.30pm on Saturday 14 January.

Season ticket holders were offered the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for this match and it appears that the demand has been high. Those supporters on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme snapped up their briefs first, with the club then offering ticket holders the chance to purchase one more ticket, on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Hoops will have the chance to keep their treble dream alive come January, as they will be fighting on three fronts. Scottish Premiership action will obviously see us head to Ibrox, with the chance to inflict yet more pain by extending our lead in the League. We will then meet Killie in the Viaplay League Cup Semi-final, then it will be Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup afterwards.

The Morton tie in the fourth-round of the Scottish Cup will be at Parkhead on Saturday 21 January. It gives Ange Postecoglou and his Celtic side a favourable chance of still being on the hunt for three trophies well into the New Year. Last year, we missed out on the Scottish Cup despite being the better team on the day. The manager will want to rectify that too this time around.

But before that, we have a shot at reaching another League Cup Final. In the other Semi-final, Aberdeen will face theRangers to stake a claim for a place in the final at Hampden Park come Sunday 26 February 2023. If the Ibrox club overcome the Dons and Celtic take care of business against the Ayrshire club, it could mean another Glasgow Derby match in a cup final, with a chance to right the wrongs of last year in the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
