Chris Sutton’s less than glowing report on Celtic-bound Adam Idah

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has issued a less than glowing report on incoming signing Adam Idah. The Irishman is nearing a loan-to-buy deal with the Scottish Champions.

Sutton, who keeps an eye on his boyhood team, responded to the report that Celtic were closing in on the 22-year-old. Taking to Twitter/X, the BBC and Sky Sports man said that he wasn’t sure if he was an upgrade on South Korean striker Oh, who has been deputising for Kyogo since last January.

The Irish striker will look to push Kyogo in attack. However, the striker-turned-pundit believes that the Norwich City forward is not the finished article that the manager was looking for this month.

Celtic had been linked with Sydney van Hooijdonk from Bologna; however, the Dutch forward is now in talks with Norwich in a bizarre twist of fate.

  1. Yet another project. I am disgusted with the way Lawwell handle our transfers. Look at what we are and where we are as a team. McGinn almost a family member and we loose him for a pittance. The guy must be pleased. We are being run down to in effect being readied for a championship failure!

  2. Absolutely disgraceful lawell and Rodgers coming back is making us a laughing stock. No disrespect to Idah but is this the quality Rodgers has been ranting about. What ANGE built has now fading dream and the two to blame are Lawell and Rodgers and if we don’t win the league the two should be SACKED!!!!!!!!

  3. Totally understand the scepticism, he’s not headline material, but this guy will do the business for us. He’s a good old fashioned modern striker! Physical, fast, instinctive, decent off the ball, he’ll score 25+ a season. We’re getting a player here who is just about to blossom. I won’t be surprised to see bids of £30m+ in a couple of years! I rate Evan Ferguson and this guy is right up there. I know this has been a shite window. The suits are letting us, the team, and the manager down big time, but please have a little faith, big Idah will be a legend! Looks like we have a new 9 HAIL HAIL COYBIG 🍀🇨🇮

  4. Seen enough of Idah with a very poor Irish team to question this potential signing?
Yet to be impressed with anything Seen within his game to suggest this would be a good signing for ourselves?
What I’m really struggling to understand is it potentially could be a case of ourselves getting landed with a Norwich cast off, as they land our potential target?
How can that possibly make sense, if we are going to play 2nd fiddle to Norwich upon player’s?
If this is the decision making of Rodgers which has been suspect enough to date upon his return, then it could well be best if he packed his bags and fucked off?

  5. I’m in shock. This guy has scored 12 goals in 99 games for Norwich…..in the English CHAMPIONSHIP! We need a proven goalscorer. As much as I’ve disliked him till now we should get Shankland rather than another project!

  6. Both the two Lawwells and Desmond need to go we have the gut’s of £100 million in the bank and still buying project’s it’s totally disgracefull. They are putting this title on the line, we are being treated like fool’s by this board who have no ambition.
