Confirmed – Toulouse seal loan-to-buy deal for Celtic striker Bayo

TOULOUSE have announced the signing of Vakoun Issouf Bayo on a season long loan with the option to buy. Despite being pictured last week, the news from the South of France was held up after it was confirmed by the club that four positive cases had come back during Coronavirus testing- including the manager and assistant manager.

For one reason or another, Bayo has been unable to make a breakthrough since joining the club. Injuries have hampered his progress with the 23-year-old missing preseason before returning to fitness in time to sign for the Ligue 2 side.

A dubious red card in the Europa League curtailed the progress that he had made to get into Neil Lennon’s reckoning before an injury ruled him out until after the winter break. Bayo was signed in January 2019, meaning he has been at Celtic for over a year already, yet has managed just 16 appearances. In that time he has scored twice (4 time if we include those that were given as own goals but are disputable) in his 364 minutes of action.

We wish him the best of luck in France.

Elsewhere, Celtic could sign a striker in the next few days with Albian Ajeti set for a permanent move to Glasgow. The Swiss Internationalist is expected in Glasgow shortly to be shown around the stadium and training facilities before concluding personal terms and a medical.

COMING VERY SOON FROM THE CELTIC STAR….
