Daizen Maeda showing he’s much more than just a Celtic cult hero

Deadly Daizen showing he’s more than just a cult hero after hitting the 30 goal mark. 40 is more than a realistic target, and that feat would make him a true Celtic icon…

Daizen has already promised us a hat-trick next weekend at McDiarmid Park, see the video below

Daizen Maeda took his season goal tally to an impressive 30 after scoring a brace in the 3-0 win over Hearts at Celtic Park as Celtic closed in on 4IAR and a 13th title triumph in 14 seasons including every single season where fans were permitted to attend matches.

The Japanese attacker has been in fine form this campaign, and has more than stepped up to fill the gap left by the departure of his fellow countryman Kyogo.

That form has contributed greatly to our success as we aim to complete a domestic treble, making Daizen a front runner in the player of the year awards.

With seven league games remaining, and hopefully a further two Scottish Cup fixtures to negotiate, it’s more than a realistic possibility that he could indeed hit the 40 goal target for the campaign.

That would be a fantastic achievement for a player who isn’t viewed as a ‘target man’ or ‘poacher’ as such. Daizen as we all know is a player who gives everything he has for team with his non stop energy, and commitment, but he’s shown this season he’s more than just a ‘cult’ hero. He’s much more than that, he’s becoming the complete player.

Hitting 40 goals would make him a true Celtic icon, and it’s a target that he’s more than capable of achieving.
