It appears Odsonne Edouard’s last dance will have been the derby day defeat to theRangers on Sunday afternoon – as they finally appear to have stolen a march in the race to buy the Frenchman, according to journalist Simone Rovera.
Edouard, 24, signed for Celtic permanently three seasons ago after a strong year on loan in the East End of Glasgow, becoming the club’s record signing in the process. And the Frenchman has developed superbly under Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon, becoming the club’s top scorer in every season since 2018-19 to post his name as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
Everton, Tottenham, Bordeaux and many other top European sides have been linked down the years – although it appears Crystal Palace will get their man according to Rovera; who claims a deal is almost done.
Odsonne Edouard à Crystal Palace… presque fait…

The fee is reported to be between the £15million and £19million mark – not a bad return on investment for Edouard who signed for just £8million from Paris Saint-Germain under Rodgers.
The Frenchman has scored 88 goals in 179 fixtures for the Hoops, which is almost a return of one goal every two games; something Celtic will find hard to replace.
However, with the instant impact Kyogo Furuhashi has shown, and the promise that imminent new signing Giorgos Giakoumakis can show, it is hoped that Celtic can perhaps use the funds elsewhere *cough, centre back* in order to fully establish themselves as the outright major force in Scottish football and a strong outfit in Europe once more.
