Exceptional Celtic form set to earn Matt O’Riley call-up for Denmark

Call up for Denmark senior side will be very well deserved for Matt O’Riley, and thanks in part to Brendan Rodgers….

Matt O’Riley is on the verge of being promoted to the Danish senior side for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers. According to reports, including from Anthony Joseph at Sky Sports, the Danes are seriously considering including Matt into the senior squad after his impressive start to the season at Celtic.

I’m my opinion it’s a no brainier for Denmark as Matt O’Riley is a terrific talent and a player who would benefit and improve an admittedly hugely talented Danish national side.

It just shows how much Matt’s game has kicked on this season under Brendan Rodgers. The Irishman has rejuvenated Matt after a lull in his game in the second half of last season and a potential call up to the Danish national side is proof of that.

Brendan challenged Matt to add more goals to his game and he’s done just that. Beating his league tally from last term after only six games. Matt clearly enjoys working under the current Celtic manager and getting the chance to play for the Denmark national side will only further enhance his capabilities.

Hopefully Matt gets his call up as it’s what he deserves. His form this season thus far has been superb and a call up to the Danish squad will be an excellent reward. Yesterday we talked about the importance of Michael Nicholson looking to get Matt O’Riley signed up on a new contract, joining the likes of Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada and hopefully Reo Hatate in signing new deals. Matt O’Riley certainly deserves it.
