Exclusive – “Idiots” – Victim featured on Channel 4 tonight attacks fellow Rangers fans who “try to redirect the issue of sex abuse into something else and hatred for the other side”

“I was brought up to love sport and that religion nor politics has no place within,” Malcom Rodger, the brave victim of historic child abuse who was featured in Alex Thomson’s report into the subject this evening on Channel 4, told The Celtic Star this week.

Malcolm is a former soldier where we served for 14 years, and he is a Rangers supporter. He was brave, dignified and a man who has had to endure and live with for the rest of his life, the most disgraceful crimes imaginable.

“I’ve seen things in a battlefield that would make a billygoat puke. With solicitors nor the top hitters in the media giving this much publicity until 18th January when I went to The Times it’s of no surprise that I’m a little edgy with people whom I don’t know,” he told The Celtic Star.

“I have been monitoring from the shadows the countless articles in the Scottish press over the last 2 years on non-recent sex abuse in Scottish Football,” Malcolm explained.

“Unfortunately for both sides of Glasgow and other clubs in Scotland the real story has been missed every time by the press.

“I am aware I am in the minority of football fans; that love the work-day banter between both sides of Glasgow but draw the line when idiots from both sides take to social media and try to redirect the issue of sex abuse into something else and hatred for the other side.

“These people are clowns and should be banned from any sport,” Malcolm stated.

“What happens on the terraces today and what happened in changing rooms 35 years ago are NOT connected.

“I have hated for the last 2 years being labelled a victim; I only started to have recollections of what happened to me as a youngster in early 2018 after seeing a newspaper article about Barry Bennell,” he told The Celtic Star.

“Whatever is said this week in the press and on TV please don’t forget that the SFA are the true problem here.

“For the last 2 years they have sat back and let the red top media attack Celtic, Celtic boys club (affiliated or not) and Rangers as well as other clubs. It has been easy press for the hack journalists with a quote here and there and a huge headline with a photo of the abuser.

“There has never been a situation at Celtic or Rangers where the abuse took place after the player signed a pro-contract,” Malcolm pointed out.

“The abuse all took place when we were kids – this falls straight at the heart of the SFA responsibilities and always has done.

“Finally I ask that you remember that every day myself and others suffer in silence whilst the people who could have and should have stopped it sadly didn’t and it is them who are responsible,” he said.

And inevitably from one football fan to another he had this to add, just after Celtic’s lead at the top of the Premiership increased to 12 points.

“Good luck with the rest of the season – it seems my side are still a wee bit behind where they need to be. Any spare money from selling more players down south would be most welcome just make the cheque out to S Gerrard – lol,” he joked. Malcolm will be pleasantly surprised with the result in Portugal tonight.

The first part of the Channel 4 investigation ended with yet more footage outside of Celtic Park – despite the story involving Malcolm having only an indirect reference to Celtic via a coach who went on to commit similar crimes at Celtic Boys Club. That piece of scum is currently servicing a custodial sentence for these crimes.

Thomson ended tonight’s report and the message from the anchor was the same – tomorrow the focus will be very much a direct and aggressive attack on Celtic FC. Thomson, responding to Celtic’s Statement this evening had this to say about that statement: “New statement today from Celtic FC in response to Channel 4 News investigation. Little if anything new. Expressing sorrow is very different linguistically and legally from saying sorry: ie apologising.”

That last sentence again: ‘Expressing sorrow is very different linguistically and legally from saying sorry: ie apologising.”

Did he actually read the Celtic statement?

“Alex please read the statement again. This supports the survivors and the legal process. We all want the survivors to get the justice they desire and deserve and the vile perpetrators locked up,” Celtic Gossip stated.

“Reek of desperation from yerself! Ye embarrassing yerself,” LouMun67 stated, pointing out that Celtic did say sorry in their statement.

“Which part of “The Club is very sorry that these events took place” can you not understand?” someone else asked.

“Let’s be honest Alex. There is nothing they could say that would suit your agenda,” another noted.
