Manchester United joined by two Premier League rivals in hunt for Celtic star

It almost feels like every day may bring a new story that links someone else with Odsonne Edouard, but that can only be good for his transfer value.

There’s no doubt that he’s Celtic’s best player and their hottest commodity just now, but it’s worth noting that he hasn’t actually made any noises about looking to move yet.

The game against Copenhagen tomorrow night could be big for his future, but if he sees he’s at a team that wins trophies and can go deep in European competition then he might not have a need to leave.

The Express reported that a trio of Premier League clubs are trailing him, and you have to think they would have the money to convince Celtic to sell.

Manchester United are the biggest name, joined by Everton and Newcastle United. There’s no talk about values or any bids being made at this point, so it doesn’t sound like anything is close.

Signing Edouard would make a lot of sense for all three sides, he’s physically dominant with outstanding technical skills and the ability to find the net on a regular basis, so it’s easy to see why they might be interested.

Eddy celebrates again

If we are looking at any benchmark figures, The Guardian reported that Newcastle paid a fee of £40m to sign Joelinton in the Summer – a player with a record of 15 goals in 60 games on loan in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Edouard has shown he can contribute much more than that, so Celtic need to stay strong and demand at least that amount to sell him.
