Odsonne Edouard has agreed to join Crystal Palace on a permanent move from Celtic. The deal is now done and the fee that Celtic will receive from the Premier League club is €18/19m. That is the late night update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The fee is higher than reported earlier, with The Celtic Star hearing earlier this evening that the price that the club was anticipating would be closer to £20m rather than the £15m we enquired about. And with numerous options on the table Celtic over the past few days have succeeded in achieving top dollar for a player already inside the last year of his contract.
That is not to say that Palace have not got a brilliant deal and they’ll probably marvel in months to come at what a brilliant bargain they picked up in the East End of Glasgow. French Eddie as the Celtic fans called him is a Rolls Royce of a football player and he is well equipped to star in the Premier League.
Despite not wishing it to be the case, he was distracted in a Celtic shirt, frustrated at not getting the move he’d been looking for last summer and then try as he might he just wasn’t reaching the incredible highs of his talismanic days wearing the Hoops.
Thanks for everything Odsonne. You’ll always be one of the Bhoys…
Odsonne Edouard will be in London today in order to sign as new Crystal Palace player on permanent move from Celtic. Done deal and here-we-go! 🔴🤝 #CPFC

If this is the end of the road for edouard in a Celtic shirt, it’s been a pleasure to watch you from the 4 year you have been here although it wasn’t the ending we all wanted but all good things need to end. Thank you and god bless
