Former Celtic maverick set for managerial role after latest announcement

FORMER CELTIC maverick Paddy McCourt looks set to secure a managerial role in the near future after the ‘Derry Pele’ completed his UEFA Pro Licence, allowing him to secure a job in one of the top leagues. McCourt had an abundance of skill and ability that he was endeared to the Parkhead faithful, often scoring world class goals but falling behind Danny McGrain in pre-season running.

Currently with Derry City as Technical Director with the Irish club, McCourt will surely be on the look out for a move to the dugout as a result of the completion of his Pro Licence.

The 36-year-old took to Twitter to announce the news and thank everyone that helped him along the way to this triumph.

“Delighted to have completed my UEFA PRO License Diploma. Huge thanks to everyone that has helped me along the way. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me within the beautiful game.”

McCourt helped convinced Shane Duffy to sign for the club and often speaks fondly about the club, as he is still a supporter. Hopefully Paddy gets a role in the future and can get himself managing in Scotland at some point.
