Former Celtic winger Davie Provan is retiring from media duties in order to move to Spain. Provan had worked for Sky Sports as well as Go Radio and other outlets; however, the 65-year-old will depart Scotland after a successful career as a player and a career in the media.
Good luck to Davie Provan who is jetting off to retire in the ☀️ after tonight’s show!

Provan joined Celtic back in 1978. The then Kilmarnock winger was called up by John Clark to sign for Billy McNeill’s Celtic but had to double-check if Provan’s family background would stop him from joining. Provan had come from a Rangers family and his dad had taken him to Ibrox; however, he binned any allegiances as he quickly adapted to life at Celtic, referring to Rangers as the enemy.
McNeill paid £125,000 for the Killie player and it would prove to be a good return. Provan won 4 league titles, 2 Scottish Cups and 1 League Cup during a nine year stay at Celtic Park. Provan made 303 appearances, scoring 42 goals. Despite his media work being unbiased since retiring, Provan should be remembered as an excellent player that gave Celtic his all.
He won the Player of the Year gong in 1980 but due to contracting ME, he was forced to retire prematurely at 31 due to the effects of the illness.
