Former Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster has secured a return to club football after agreeing a deal seven months on from his Tottenham exit…
The 37-year-old has been without a team since being released by Spurs at the end of last season, but has now joined Bournemouth on a short-term contract running through to the end of the current campaign.
Forster’s arrival on the south coast reunites him with former Hoops colleague Ryan Christie, with the experienced stopper expected to provide cover behind established first choice Djordje Petrovic, who joined the Cherries from Chelsea in a big-money summer move.
The veteran is likely to be included in the matchday squad for Bournemouth’s trip to Premier League leaders Arsenal this afternoon. Across spells with Southampton and Tottenham, Forster made 155 appearances in the Premier League, recording 47 shutouts.

Despite that pedigree, his reputation was forged in Glasgow, where he enjoyed a hugely successful spell with Celtic, excelling on the European stage and setting a Premiership record by going 1,256 minutes without conceding.
His performance against Barcelona in a famous Champions League victory back in November 2012 was so striking that Lionel Messi later described it as the finest goalkeeping display he had witnessed, even suggesting the Catalan giants should pursue his signature.

In other news relating to Bournemouth and Celtic, Julian Araujo has signed a six-month loan deal with the Hoops and could go straight into the team this lunchtime against theRangers in the third Glasgow Derby of the season.

Speaking via Celtic’s official YouTube channel, Araujo said: “Yeah, so obviously I know what this game is about, but as being here, I’m excited to be a part of this game. I’m excited not only for this game, but for the rest of the second half of the season.”
“I know tomorrow is going to be a big game, obviously, but we’ve got to stay humble, keep our feet on the ground and know what we’ve got to do. Went over what we needed to do today, so I think tomorrow is just to implement it and to be confident and go out there and play a game.”
🗣️ “The Celtic players look directionless. The squad is in dire need of major surgery.”
