Giorgis Giakoumakis missed Greece training as the Celtic striker sparked fears he had picked up an injury. Greek outlet Sportime editor Giannis Chorianopoulos took to Twitter earlier today to update regarding the striker’s status ahead of Tuesday’s game against N. Ireland.
❗ Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis didn’t make training with the team today and he followed a personal programme. Unknown yet if he will be able to play v Northern Ireland on Tuesday 🟢@CelticFC #Celtic #CelticFC

The fact that GG trained, albeit on his own, suggests that he has picked up a concern but it was not enough to make him sit out entirely. As we head into a crucial juncture of the season, Giakoumakis will be hoping to stamp his authority upon a starting role with the competition with Kyogo heating up. While both players are happy to play their part, both will want to be on from the start and healthy competition is only a good thing for the team.
Ange will likely be keeping up to date with developments with his No.7 ahead of a hectic month in October. The Scottish Champions will be looking to progress in Europe as well as the League Cup, while bouncing back from the defeat to St Mirren.
It will likely become clear tomorrow whether Giakoumakis has picked up any injuries.
Should be on his way back to his club if they suspect anything.
