“Gutted about the result. Happy to be in Leverkusen colours,” Ex-Celt Frimpong on debut shocker

Former Celtic right back Jeremie Frimpong made his debut for his new club Bayer Leverkusen last night but things did not go according to plan for the Bundesliga side. Playing against minnows Rot-Weiss Essen from the fourth tier of German football in the German Cup, the 20 year old £11.5m purchase from Celtic came off the bench with the score at 1-1 but rather than going on to win it was the minnows who grabbed the glory and left Frimpong gutted at a debut in German football that couldn’t have gone any worse!

“Gutted about the result!,” the ex-Celtic star tweeted, adding: “Happy to be in Bayer Leverkusen colors”.

Frimpong was joined by Olivier Ntcham who finally got his wish to leave Celtic but it’s been a case out out of the flying pan and into the fire for the French Under 21 midfielder who had been agitating for a move from Celtic for two years. Why he wasn’t shifted out the door sooner is a complete mystery as is the decision to knock back Porto’s £13.5m bid.  Ntcham will have a few months to justify his position at Marseille and try to win over their fans after his previous PSG tweets came to light.

He also helped to get the manager sacked in ONE DAY, while some would say he’s been trying to do the same – along with Celtic’s other Wantaways all season without getting their way.

Hopefully ALL of Celtic’s Wantaways will get their wish in the summer so that we can get back to playing players who want to wear the Hoops.  Few will be remembered fondly.
