Happy Birthday to Celtic cult hero Aaron Mooy. The former Australian Internationalist turns 34 today as he continues to enjoy his well-earned retirement.
Ange Postecoglou signed Mooy to replace compatriot Tom Rogic, who left after an illustrious time at the club. Mooy arrived to little fanfare but was seen as a shrewd signing by the Scottish Champions. As it turned out, Mooy was an excellent signing as he helped Celtic to a record-breaking Treble.
Mooy made 42 appearances for Celtic, scoring 7 goals and assisting on 11 occassions. In particular, Mooy’s form after Christmas was imperative to Celtic winning all three trophies that season. It was probably testament to the quality of Mooy that Matt O’Riley had to deputise to the midfielder.
The touch 😮💨 The finish 😍

Mooy had a back injury that kept him out the team for a while and it was later confirmed that this was the reason behind his decision to retire in the summer of 2023.
Hopefully Mooy has had a good birthday and is enjoying his retirement.
