“He was really good,” Patrick Vieira praises former Celtic striker

Odsonne Edouard endured a slightly turbulent entry into the Premier League last season but is beginning to properly find his feet down south. Edouard left Celtic in a move to Crystal Palace worth £18.5 million but failed to register a significant amount of game-time or number of goals, after an initial strong start.

The Frenchman has started five out of eight games so far this season and not only netted a goal last week against Chelsea but struck again in Palace’s 2-1 win over Leeds United at the weekend . With his form seeming to be on the rise, the Crystal Palace manager replied to whether Odsonne Edouard is ready to make starts on a regular basis. As reported by the Daily Record, Patrick Vieira said…

“I hope so. In the last couple of games that we played, he was really good for us with the way he linked the game and was dropping deeper and working really hard. He’s scoring goals, so that will build his confidence.”

“Especially as a number nine, to play games, to believe in his ability, and try to bring that connection with the players around him. He was really good today.”

Nice to see French Eddy doing well, it took him a while to get started at Celtic too but after that he was exceptional, maybe less so in that unfortunate want-away spell.  Still, that’s all water under the bridge now.
