Highland Paddy – Celtic Park Memories before Fergus McCann’s Winds of Change

For those of a certain age, it’s easy to get glassy eyed when you think back to Celtic Park before it was redeveloped.

Many of us will think of the great games we saw in the old place, the great atmosphere that was generated from the Jungle, but there was also the pie stalls next to “toilets” and the rivers of you know what running down the terracing.

For all its faults it still holds a special place in our memories, from the first game you went to, arranging to meet family or friends at certain areas of the ground or even the time honoured tradition of standing behind one set of goals then walking round at half time to the other end!

Sadly that last part was taken away from us when gates and fences were put in at either end of the Jungle, once you were in, that was it.

When you look at these photographs, hopefully, you will be able to pick out your spot in the old place.
