Aston Villa captain John McGinn has given his thoughts on his Scotland teammate Keiran Tierney’s upcoming summer return to Celtic this summer…

It’s a move that John McGinn himself has always had an eye on and anyone watching his performance in Aston Villa’s impressive win against Newcastle United would reckon that he could still do a job for Celtic. Maybe not in summer 2027 after his current contract at Villa Park ends.

“Celtic is his club, and I would imagine he is really excited about going back”
John McGinn gave his opinion of KT’s imminent return to Paradise via The Sunday Post’s print edition and reckons that his pal and Scotland teammate still has plenty to play for at Arsenal in the closing weeks of the season with that mouthwatering UEFA Champions League semi-final against favourites PSG after the Gunners’ stunning results and performances in both legs of the quarter final against holders Real Madrid.
“I’m really pleased for Kieran. He is an unbelievable footballer and totally dedicated to his profession,” McGinn said. “Celtic is his club, and I would imagine he is really excited about going back and playing again under Brendan Rodgers.

“I’ve no doubt Kieran will add extra quality to the squad, and his experience will be invaluable as they push towards remaining the dominant team in the country. It’s also about progress in Europe, and Kieran will want to help the club into the Champions League. It’s the tournament every footballer wants to be involved in.
“So, I wish Kieran well, but he also has plenty to look forward to with Arsenal in the next few weeks, and he’ll be desperate to go out on a high.”
