‘I’m sure I’ll want to stay here as a player,’ Celtic’s loan Bhoy Oliver Burke

OLIVER BURKE spoke to the media yesterday and enthused about his Celtic experience so far – the 21 year old striker is loving every minute of his time at the Scottish Champions and is open to making the move permanent when his loan spell comes to an end.

Whether Celtic would be willing to meet West Brom’s transfer fee expectations – they spent £15million signing him from RB Leipzig so would be looking to recover as much of that outlay as possible.

“It’s not really anything that’s been spoken about yet but I’m sure if I continue to keep doing well and stuff I’m sure I’ll want to stay here as a player,” Burke said.

“Knowing that I’m going to play football, I think that’s the main thing for me now especially at a young age.

‘”I’ve been sort of starved of football for the past couple of years now so that’s all I want to do.

“I just want to be out there enjoying myself on nights like Wednesday.

“It was a massive relief for me to score and an amazing feeling.

“My team-mates are also a massive help. I feel at home already.”

Burke and indeed Timothy Weah have made impressive starts to their Celtic loan spells. Weah may extend his time at the club to 18 months, he’s certainly loving playing in the Hoops too. And with Bayo about to be added to the strike force, plus a return to fitness of Odsonne Edouard and perhaps Leigh Griffths not being too far away, things are looking good up front.

Is there any sign of a new right back?
