Imminent return of injured quartet welcome, but quality signings essential

Return of injured quartet is positive news, it won’t cure our need for new blood, but it’s a welcome boost all the same…

There was some welcoming news this week with the return of Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada to full training. It was further boosted by the news that Reo Hatate has also started light training (rehab) duties in his battle to fight back to full fitness. And the scheduled return of Cameron Carter-Vickers against Hearts on Saturday afternoon at Celtic Park is absolutely essential for Celtic’s title aspirations.

Cameron Carter-Vickers will be available for the weekend’s match against Hearts

It’s looks like Reo Hatate won’t be back until early in the new year, but both Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada are expected to take some part in our upcoming league games, and that is good news with the vital Glasgow Derby clash looming at the end of the month.

Liel Abada is expected back this month

We must be cautious with both players though and I’m sure Brendan will be as we don’t want them to suffer any setbacks. Something we’ve already witnessed this season in the case of both Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers this season.

Maeda and Abada will give us an added threat up top, especially in the case of Abada whose goal contribution has been massive for Celtic over the past few seasons.  Both enjoy playing against theRangers.

Reo Hatate has started working on the grass at Lennoxtown and is due back after the winter break

Many won’t admit it, but we’ve also missed Daizen’s energy and enthusiasm in the side. He’s definitely one of those players you miss the most when he’s absent from the team. The return of said trio won’t cure our need for new players, but it will make us stronger all the same.
