Incoming wingers has our already inquisitive support pondering even more

One winger on the way and another rumoured, what does that tell us?

Celtic are about to confirm the signing of Australian winger Marco Tilio and are credited with heavy interest in South Korean wide man Yang Hyun-Jun.

It’s an area we are already well covered in, with Jota, Liel Abada, Daizen Maeda, Sead Hakšabanović and James Forrest all vying for starting places. Another two on top of that and it’d going to very difficult to accommodate them all. Or is there something we don’t know?

There was rumoured interest from various clubs towards Liel Abada a few months ago, and of course we know Jota will be attracting plenty of interest, does that mean one could be moving on for a big sum in the not to distant future?

Or maybe there could be plans to situate any new potential signings in a more advanced or central role. It’s all hypothetical at the moment of course, but signing players in a position that is already well covered will obviously get an already inquisitive support pondering even more.

I think Tilio has been bought because the Korean boy wasn’t allowed to leave this window due to his club fighting relegation. We saw it with Oh, one not coming so another bought in their place. Simples!

I do think Abada is away though.

  2. The Australian bhoy is reported to be better through the middle than on the wing, is he a number 10 or a back up striker for Kyogo?

What about Rocco Vata? He looks impressive, though still young, and deserves encouragement. If he doesn’t see a route towards the first team, then surely he’ll be leaving Celtic, like too many other prospects.

  4. When Tillio came through I said he was destined for big things but ever since he has failed to impress.
The plus side is that Rogic was average in the A league too but his year long injury soon after joining Celtic worked wonders for him. Hanging around Lennoxtown and getting personal coaching for a year and a different Rogic emerged.
At present though Tillio would struggle to get a game. Forrest and Vata would be in before Tillio.
Let’s face it Martin Boyle would start over Tillio in the Australian team if fit and we could’ve had Boyle in his prime but didn’t consider him good enough for Celtic.
Signing Tillio has Harry Kewell’s fingerprints all over it.

Forrest has lost his pace. Haksabanovic is Hearts’ standard, not good enough for the bench. Jota is off to Al-Ittihad according to the Evening Times. Abada has made no secret to test himself in England, although only Southampton were loosely linked & they’ve been relegated. So 2 new wingers + Vata + Mikey Johnstone i think. Haksabanovic is too lazy and not a Rodgers type forward. Like to see him ejected with big head Abada.
