Born in Oswestry, Mike Galloway started his senior career in England with Mansfield Town from 1983 to 1985, then spent another two years with Halifax Town from 1985 to 1987.
Mike then moved up to Scotland for another two-year spell, this time with Hearts, with whom he made 56 appearances, scoring 8 goals. While at Tynecastle, he caught the eye of Billy McNeill, who brought him to Celtic Park, where he signed on this day in 1989 for a fee of £500,000.
Mike went on to make 160 appearances in the Hoops, with 10 goals to his name.
6 feet 2 inch centre-half Scott Cuthbert was born on this day in 1987. He signed for Celtic in August 2003 at the age of 16 and went on to captain the club’s U-19 and Reserve teams.
On 20 October 2007 Scott was an unused substitute in an Glasgow Derby match when Rangers won 3-0. After loan spells with Livingston and St Mirren, Scott Cuthbert joined Swindon Town on 13 July 2009.
