Jim Craig – Celtic stars Dom Sullivan and Jason Denayer

After a few months with St Roch’s Juniors, Dom Sullivan joined Clyde in October 1969 and went on to play 174 matches for the Bully Wee. Five years later, he moved to Aberdeen, where he made 98 appearances under Ally McLeod. In October 1979, Celtic came calling and Dom came down to Parkhead, where he played 84 games over the next four years.

On this day in 1983, Dom Sullivan was freed by Celtic and eventually ended up at Morton.

Jason Denayer was born on this day in 1995 in Jette, Belgium.

He started his youth career with FC Ganshoren in Brussels, where he spent three years, then moved to Anderlecht for two years and JMG Academy for one year.

At that point in 2014, Jason was picked up by Manchester City and was loaned out to Celtic that same year.

During the 2014-15 season, Jason played 29 times for Celtic, helping them to win the Premiership and the League Cup. He then moved – again on loan – to Galatasary for for the following season.

Celtic tried on several occasions to sign the player but for one reason or another (Celtic’s failure to reach there Champions League Group Stages before Brendan Rodgers arrived) meant that it wasn’t to be.
