Journalist claims Celtic have made contact over Croatian Internationalist

Celtic have finally made contact with Gorica over long-term target Kristijan Lovrić. The 25-year-old follows Celtic’s official account on Instagram and Ange Postecoglou is keen on signing the player that is said to be available for around £4.2m as the new manager plots a rebuild ahead of a new season.

Marko Jerleković has claimed that Celtic have finally made contact with Gorica over the purchase of left-winger Kristijan Lovrić. The sports editor for Croatian outlet Tribuna.hr has taken to Twitter to update supporters of Celtic’s pursuit of Lovrić.

It is early days yet and social media can often produce some tall tales but there appears to be a lot of chatter about Lovric coming to Celtic in recent weeks.

Lovric plays primarily as a left-winger but can also play as a second striker or on the right wing. In 125 appearances, Lovric has scored 58 goals and notched 24 assists. A number of accounts have looked at his stat output and he impresses.

Postecoglou has added Liel Abada (RW), Osaze Urhoghide (CB) and Kyogo Furuhashi (ST) with Carl Starfelt (CB) also agreeing to join Celtic. There are a number of players linked with the club but players like Lovric would certainly add quality to the side. Celtic need to replace Moi Elyounoussi and with Mikey Johnston injured, Postecoglou needs a couple of players in the door as a matter of urgency.

  1. Red Scotland on

Social media is as believable as the moon landings. I wouldn’t trust them anymore than I’d trust Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin. When a player has a Celtic jersey on in Celtic Park I’ll believe he has signed for the club.
