The Hoops weren’t at their best, but it was made all the more sweeter considering Philippe Clement’s men gave it as good as they’ve got across the regulation period and extra-time.

Taking to social media straight after the match, former Celtic striker and now prominent Sky Sports Scotland pundit Chris Sutton said, “well played Celtic and Brendan Rodgers, absolutely relentless. Another moral victory maybe for (the)Rangers though.”

This comes eight months on from theRangers manager Philippe Clement’s bizarre comments claiming his team struck a ‘moral victory’ against Celtic in the 3-3 draw between the two sides at Ibrox back in April.

Of course, Rodgers’ men went onto convincingly win the league last season whilst their rivals collapsed in the final few weeks of the season.

Since then, Clement has yet to beat the Scottish champions on six occasions with defeat number five occurring at the national stadium on Sunday.

Both clubs will meet again in only a matter of weeks where Celtic will have the chance to all but seal the league title with a victory. Up next though is Dundee United on Sunday, which gives the players time to recover and regroup this week before heading to Tannadice.
