Kyogo the best since Henrik Larsson – That’s a matter of opinion

There was a debate recently regarding Kyogo and Odsonne Edouard, ie who is the better player. Now it’s been suggested by many that Kyogo is the best player to have graced the hoops since the great Henrik Larsson.

High praise indeed and one open for argument. My take on it? Kyogo is an outstanding talent and currently the best striker in the country. The best since Henrik? He’s up there with a few others.

Nearly twenty years since the King of Kings left the club, a flurry of strikers have joined the club and of course not all have been a success.

Only four can lay claim to be half as good as Henrik in my eyes. Gary Hooper, Moussa Dembele, Odssone Edouard and of course Kyogo.

Gary Hooper was more than just a poacher

Hooper scored 82 goals in 138 games, but he was more than just a poacher, he was an all round front man. He done the business at the highest level in Europe and of course in the Glasgow derby. He was a fantastic player.

Odsonne Edouard was an incredible player for Celtic

Moussa and French Eddy were also deadly front men scoring over 130 goals between them in their time at the club. Both just like Hooper were elegant footballers as well as goal scorers, proving it on the European scene and of course were a thorn to theRangers on Glasgow Derby day.

Moussa Dembele became the first Celtic player to score a hat-trick against theRangers

Kyogo is also in the same mould, 48 goals in 74 appearances, he’s scored a few in Europe also and just recently started doing the damage in the Glasgow derby. Just like the other trio he is a fantastic footballer as well as a goalscorer. What he does possess more than the others is his work rate, he is phenomenal. he must be a nightmare to play against.

If Kyogo stays another couple of seasons and keeps up the same form he can undoubtedly lay claim to be the best since Henrik. Scoring in the champions league next season can further help his cause. He’s a cracking wee player. One we’re lucky to have.

Overall it’s open to interpretation if Kyogo is the best since Henrik. One thing that is certain is that no one has come close to replicating the success Henrik had at Celtic. It’s doubtful if anyone will in the near future. That is something we can all agree on. It’s going to take a very special player to overhaul the King of Kings legendary status, one very special player indeed.
