Lenny wants to hear the Celtic Roar and his team to play Lazio

LIKE the rest of us, Neil Lennon was delighted with that Celtic performance at the weekend and he’d have enjoyed the subsequent result from Tynecastle which keeps Celtic at the top of the table ahead of Sunday’s crucial visit to Aberdeen. But before that there’s the glamour tie against Italian giants Lazio for the Celtic manager to negotiate and that for now has his full attention.

Here are the goals from the win over Ross County…

And some post match interviews…

Ryan Christie, suspended for the matches against Ross County and Aberdeen, will return to the side for the Europa League game and while Jeremie Frimpong was sensational against the Highlanders – our Man of the Match – he’s likely to sit on the bench on Thursday with Elhamed being brought back into the side for his stronger defensive qualities and experience.

Tom Rogic got the start he craved against Ross County and could also start at Pittodrie, a ground where he has a great goalscoring record, but on Thursday night he’ll have to make way for Christie.

The likely Celtic team to face Lazio in the Europa League looks like this…

Forster

Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer, Bolingoli

Brown, McGregor

Forrest, Christie, Elyounoussi

Edouard

You know there’s real momentum when the team starts to pick itself and it’s hard to argue with he way these players have been playing this season, setting aside that last couple of away results and in particular the poor showing on that pitch at Livingston, who lost to Kilmarnock at the weekend.

“It’s a good response to one point from the last six,” Neil Lennon told CelticTV.

“I think we have a good team here, without getting carried away.

“We are in a good position in the group and that should give us a lot of confidence going into what should be a cracking game against Lazio.

“I hope the fans enjoyed it because that was for the fans as much as anyone else and now we are under the lights on Thursday night and I am sure will hear that roar again.”
