Links between Celtic and Liverpool keep on coming as another Celtic star linked with Anfield switch

We haven’t seen too many players moving between Celtic and Liverpool in recent years, but it looks like a few moves could happen this summer if the rumours are correct.

The longest standing link revolves around Kristoffer Ajer and a switch to Anfield – he does look like he needs to step up another level and they need to reinforce their defence, so that could make a lot of sense.

It was suggested that Liverpool have been tracking Ajer ahead of a potential move in the summer, but it remains to be seen what happens there after they signed two defenders in January.

Interestingly one of those new defenders could actually join Celtic this summer, so that may even free up space for Ajer to make the move down south.

It was reported yesterday that Ben Davies is already looking for a way out of Anfield after realising that he’s never going to play regularly, while it’s even suggested that Celtic have already made contact about a potential loan move with an option to buy.

It now appears that there’s a third name to throw into the mix after Rousing The Kop reported a claim from The Transfer Window Podcast which stated that Odsonne Edouard is now a target for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Eddy is another player who looks destined to leave this summer and we all know he’s more than ready to play at the highest level, while Roberto Firmino has struggled for goals this season so Liverpool need a proper number 9 to revitalise their attack.

Admittedly they didn’t go directly to Anfield but they’ve seen that top quality players can be developed in the Scottish Premiership as Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson have become key players, so there’s every reason to think Ajer and Eddy could do just as well.

Celtic will be severely weakened if both players do leave so they need to ensure they get a decent amount of money in return to help rebuild the squad, so it might be worth seeing if there are any other players on top of Davies who can be acquired in exchange.
